Jose ortega, pictor: BOSCO and SAN GIOVANNI A PIRO

Bosco, fraction of the Municipality of St. Giovanni to Piro, to the feet of the Bulgheria Mountain, has been made famous by the Spanish painter Ortega that spent there the last twenty years of his own life.
Picasso's student, exiled for choice, fighting in name of the liberty, here Ortega bought a ground, drew and built his own house / study.
The artist decided to settle to Bosco because the village was similar to that of its infancy, and the poor inhabitants , with the darkened face and hardened by the sun, called its people back.
After the visit of the house - museum of the painter, we will move to St. Giovanni a Piro, suggestive village absorbed in the green of the ulivetis that dye the strata of the Bulgheria Mountain, in dominant position on the Gulf of Policastro.

TIMING:

• 9.30 a.m.: 
  participants' meeting in Chili square in front of the House of the Mayor. Departure for Bosco on a great tourism bus. Visit of the village and the house - museum of José Ortega.
• 1 p.m.:
  lunch in restaurant tasting typical products of the territory.
• 3 p.m: 
  departure for San Giovanni a Piro and visit of the village.
• 5.30 p.m.:
  reentry.
