Giustiniani tells about the village when he says Acquavellaas Bonafida. In 1513, on the occasion of the marriage of Alfonsodi Sangro and Bridget of Capua, Sigismondo di Sangro promised to his sonto donate, with Porcile (Stella Cilento), St. Giovanni, Guarazzano, Bo-nafida and the fourth part of Acquavella.
Alfonso succeeded (a. 1524)his son Giovanni Consalvo, but in 1517 Bonafida had been soldto Ferrante Gambacorta by Mattia Rocco.
