Villammare is closely linked to the festival of Mary SS. Portosalvo, protector of fishermen. Each year, according to tradition, in honor of the saint is held in the morning a procession at sea with all the fishermen and later a santa messa. In evening go along the streets of the village where the fishermen themselves take turns carrying the statue of the virgin mary accompanied by the band room and finally he took part in the procession with a solemn mass celebrated by the bishop. To conclude the festivities is organized a big concert and a fireworks display.
