In august many faithful climb on a pilgrimage to the cave on mount ausinito angel. The statue located inside the cave was built in 1800 and depicts the archangel michael place defensively. The route is long and arduous but the view and the cave of the angel are rare and striking beauty. According to legend a young shepherdess took refuge in the cave when suddenly it began to rain. The snow blocked the exit and the young woman frightened, cried out to St. Michael. It is said that a woman named angela was saved and decided to become a nun.
