Since 1836, every year on the day of august, the statue is carried in solemn procession through the streets of the seaside village of Santa Maria di Castellabate, all covered with offerings of the faithful devotees. It was the early 1800s when some fishermen found in the waters of the sea of castellabate, the wooden statue of the Madonna and child. The religious festival is characterized by long and extraordinary fireworks show on the waters of the sea of Santa Maria. Along with the festival also organizes an exhibition on 13th and 15th.
