Suggestive medieval villages developed on hills overlooking the sea, Agropoli and Castellabate are two centers rich of history and traditions that have preserved very well the ancient part in them architectural characteristics.
Among the most important cultural resources of Agropoli: the castle, the mother church of the Saints Pietro and Paul of VI century, the church of the Madonna of Constantinople and the convent of St. Francis from which, according to the tradition, the Saint talked to the fishes.
Few kilometers far, Castellabate, location of the famous movie "Welcome to the South", appears as a ball of alleys, arcs and stairways that develop around the castle built in 1123 for the defense against the pirates.
Among the testimonies of the past: the Romanesque church of Saint Maria de' Julia and the numerous noble buildings, shelter of numerous illustrious characters among which Gioacchino Murat.
